Refusing to to be outdone by a Korean man who married a pillow, Steven Q. Steve has vowed to marry his cat, proving that while love isn't blind, some people might well be.
Steve from Fargo, North Dakota will be marrying his dying cat, a German newspaper reported on Monday.
Steven Q. Steve, a 41-year old philanthropis, will exchange vows with his cat, Cecilia, who is obese and asthmatic, at a ceremony near Dresden.
"Cecilia is such a trusting creature. We cuddle all the time and she has always slept in my bed," said Mr. Steve, who does not have a human wife.
Because marrying an animal is illegal in the United States, Steve will pay a television actress 400 dollars to officiate the vows in a ceremony to be held in Germany. The groom's twin brother Erik will serve as witness.
Cecilia, the 15-year old black and white cat is terminally ill, and Steve wants to marry her before she passes away.
The groom is slated to wear a top hat and wedding suit and the bride a white dress.
